Recently, I started keeping lists of my favorite fics on Word documents. One Word document per fandom. Fandoms included are: Merlin, Doctor Who, Stargate Atlantis, Supernatural, and Kingdom Hearts. Most of these lists are less than five pages long, all in Calibri 11 font type/size.
Stargate Atlantis is on page 39 with 261 entries. *facepalm*
This means that A) all the best writers reside in the SGA fandom, B) I might not be as discerning in my fic reading as I originally thought, C) McShep is just that good or D) some combination of all of the above.
SGA WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY BRAIN?!
So...several fandoms to talk about this time around, along with some real life stuff.
Lastly, my little brother had his first band concert today. He plays the baritone which is probably as big as he is. He was so adorable. The whole fifth grade band was adorable. They were all so excited to be playing their instruments. *smug* Of course, my brother was the best :) His instructor is considering upgrading him to a tuba and on his band progress report he got Exceeds Expectations on everything. The little guy is awesome, what can I say? It's 'cause he's got such an awesome big sister, methinks.
On a side note, I finished reading Coraline. Have I mentioned that Neil Gaiman is epic? Because he is. Majorly. I also read a comic of his, Batman: Whatever happened to the Caped-Crusader?. It was amazing. The Joker was in it (momentarily)! I love the Joker. The comic was all about Batman's funeral. I don't want to say much more than that because it would spoil the surprise (but, it really wasn't so surprising but very satisfying to see). But, Neil + Batman = Awesome Stuff. I wanted to buy a copy but I was moneyless. I liked the art in it too. I'm willing to read most any comic, regardless of the art because I'm usually more interested in the story but there are a few that the art kind of creeps me out. Batman: Of Lovers and Madmen, as an example. However, I adore that one because it's a Creation of Joker story and those are always fun. Also, Arkham Asylum had art that, while creepy, was refreshingly beautiful in a skewed, demented sort of way.
Of the three, I only own Arkham Asylum and I couldn't purchase the other two. It wasn't so bad because I still have a pile of books to read. I just picked up Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Currently, I'm on chapter three.
Fact of Life: Zombies make everything more fun :D
So, Gordon was hunting Sam which somehow resulted in Deann being trapped inside a burning Harvelle Roadhouse. Bobby was uber-awesome, busting through the door and dragging Dean to safety. Sammy was panicking and useless throughout it. after that, Castiel was in the backseat of Gordon's car. Castiel was all aloof and coolly angelic--it was wicked. I was there too! Right next to him. I dont know why, but dream logic informed me that Gordon was taking us to Dean. Gordon was heading towards what looked suspiciously like the Chicago cityscape.
Castiel got impatient and popped us (minus Gordon) into another car. He drove and apparently did not like speed limits. He zoomed through the highway, flying past Gordon. (Literally, flying.) The radio played Nickelback. Eventually we flew off the highway and found ourselves levitating over a snowy hill. I freaked (in a good way). I said something along the lines of "Lucifer must really like you; you're a speed demon!"
I wanted to kick myself as soon as I finished the sentence because the car came to a sudden stop and he looked at me in shock. Then the car plummeted to the snow-covered ground.
(I should mention, while Cas and I were zoomin around, there were pretty sparkly floating jewels everywhere that he and I had to collect by ramming into each one we saw--like a bonus level in a video game!)
The car slammed onto the ground; I survived, thankfully. We started rolling down the hill, building up speed. It came to a halt at the bottom of the hill which, incidentally, turned out to be the sandy bank of a lake. Castiel stepped out of the car and waded in the water. He then turned into a merman. (Seriously. Tail fin, scales...it was weird). Then Sebastion!Dean and Flounder!Sam swam about him and Scuttle!Uriel flew overhead.
At that point I woke up and was all "That was trippy. I should write it down."
And I did.
Misha is such an amazing guy. I don't think I've ever fangirled over anyone as badly as I'm fangirling over him. Wicked sense of humor. Kind of cocky at times (with good reason). Words cannot capture his pure AWESOME. *is smitten* I am a proud Misha Minion, let me tell you.
